The impact of an early strict nationwide lockdown on the pattern of consultation for neurological diseases
The COVID-19 outbreak has rapidly spread around the world causing a massive disruption of healthcare systems, a profound economic depression and a distressing social situation [1]. Most countries entered into a lockdown in an attempt to slow the spread of the virus once they were already suffering a serious hit. Based on the experience observed in Europe, Argentina closed its borders on March 15thonly one week after the firstperson died of COVID-19, and implemented an early nationwide lockdown limiting the circulation of 90% of its population, on March 20th, with 128 cases and 3 deaths of COVID-19 [2–3].
