Development of a Chimeric Model to Study and Manipulate Human Microglia In Vivo

Hasselmann, Coburn, et al. validate a new xenotransplantation paradigm to study iPSC-derived human microglia in vivo. This chimeric approach rectifies many of the deficits observed in culture models, providing new insight into the functional and transcriptional responses of human microglia to inflammatory insults and Alzheimer’s disease pathology.
