I freely admit that I ate way too much cheese on Saturday night. Now, new research suggests that my decision to reach for a small and underwhelming packet of muesli the next morning – instead of more cheese – was influenced by a collection of neurons that play an important role in personal memories. Their job? To consolidate the memory of the recent cheese-feast and then inhibit future eating behavior. Bless them. (January 21, 2019)
