When the hormone allopregnanolone (ALLO) abruptly decreases or stops during pregnancy, children are more likely to develop autism. Congratulations Aaron Carlson 2020 Exemplary Teacher Award Winner

Please join us in congratulating our neurology faculty member Aaron Carlson!  Dr. Carlson is a winner of 2020 College of Medicine Exemplary Teacher awards! Dr. Carlson has shown a commitment to the education of medical students, residents, and fellows, both informally during teaching rounds and also in his individuals accomplishments! Dr. Carlson is an associate director for the medical school MS2 Neuroscience course and has developed a dedicated neuroanatomy curriculum for the neurology residents to prepare them to serve as TAs for this course. He has also helped develop our neuroimmunology educational rotations and fellowship.
